If you will be doing the trimming yourself, you will need nail clippers for your cat. Regular nail trimming reduces the likelihood of damage that may be caused by sharp claws. It also decreases the possibility of a nail growing into the footpad-a condition that may cause infection. It is a good idea to start the trimming early in the cat's life, so that the task becomes easier with time. Ask your veterinarian for a demonstration on how to trim the nails. You also need to clean your cat's eyes from accumulated matter, as necessary. If you do not have the time to groom your cat yourself, yourself, you can always hire a professional groomer.
